Good Customized Ice Hockey Jerseys For NHL Fans

All of you that are crazy about the NHL and ice hockey listen up for a while. You know there are some NHL authentic hockey jerseys out there that you'd love to own in real life, but if you had to, you'd settle for some cheap NHL replica hockey jerseys that are detailed enough to be taken for a real one.

Since your favorite league is the National Hockey League, a NHL model its got to be, obviously. If this is the case, then you need to rely on a professional jersey builder to create a custom model of your favorite player's jersey for you. A professional jersey builder can get you cheap NHL replica hockey jerseys that are highly detailed.

If custom made NHL jerseys aren't your thing, don't worry. Your jersey builder can put together replicas of practically any kind of jersey you want, past or present, for a picky hockey fan and collector like you.

From a custom model Sidney Crosby Rimouski jersey to a USA hockey team jersey for a toddler, from antiques to old-time sports like the 1980 U.S. hockey Olympics jerseys, from Gretzky in the NY Rangers jersey to any other imaginable authentic National Hockey League jerseys. The right jersey builder will use the ultimate in precision craftsmanship and detailed care to design your jersey just the way you remember and want it.

Most jersey model builders can create your custom player jersey and other models to meet your exact specifications and your exact scale. You can choose how much details you want put into each custom jersey. Some jobs may be as easier than others. On the other hand, you could request something that involves completely new customized parts, as well as realistic shrunken settings.

You custom model Gretzky in the NY Rangers jersey or other custom built NHL jerseys will provide you with endless hours of enjoyment and entertainment, either live at the arena or at home in front of the TV. That's why they are worth your time and money to research and purchase the right one, as well as the hours of careful work put in by the jersey builder.

At some places, like at Ice Jerseys, you can create your own hockey jersey using an application game. This is a real cool thing that more fans and hockey clubs should begin to use. I've never seen anything like this one anywhere else before, but my guess is that similar applications soon will become common online and in stores.

If I was to build my own customized NHL jersey, I would definitely also go for the captains 'C' on the chest. That's a cool detail that many fans don't pay attention to, but that make your jersey stand out.

Dry Land Ice Hockey Training

In the past, ice hockey players train entirely on the ice and hockey training is not an option. This is the complete opposite when it comes to training presently used by coaches and trainers. There are many reasons why ice hockey training now includes dry land training. Some of these reasons are to build muscle mass, develop speed and agility, increase stamina and slapshot power and also to avoid injuries.

Unlike other sports, is played on the most demanding surface, ice. This is why ice hockey training requires a different kind of athlete conditioning. An excellent hockey player should have great stamina and lower body power needed for good skating, quick and agile hands for handling the stick, strong arms for power shots and a well-built upper body for taking and giving hits. All of these can't be attained by an ice hockey player if he only trained on the ice. The balanced combination of on-ice and dry land training will result in a well-rounded player. Any player who wants to reach their maximum potential, and become a dominant force on the ice, absolutely has to embrace training.

Coaches know the importance of training and also the benefits that it gives to the players. Ice hockey improves muscular endurance, speed, power and agility without the need for ice time. It is true that the movements are different between the two surfaces but the benefits are the same. Ice time does not come cheap while training virtually costs nothing. If a team will depend on their ice time, then they won't have enough time to train and condition. Hockey training doesn't require much more than somewhere to go and the player's willingness to train. Sticking to a dry land ice training routine will make players more disciplined during their training. This is because training is more grueling and many players hate it compared to their training.

Training is the perfect place to work on the player's conditioning with tailor-made cardio workouts to directly benefit their on-ice game. During a hockey game, a player hits the ice for a quick shift at maximum capacity then goes back to the bench to rest for a few minutes. Cardio workouts in dry land ice hockey training should be structured the same way as the player's play the game. Plyometrics is used to develop and enhance balance, speed, power and agility. This is because plyometric exercises focus around fast, explosive movements and plyometrics exercises can make a player run and skate faster, jump higher, hit harder, shoot harder and improve just about all aspects of a player's game.

Training with specific focus on gains that will translate to on-ice performance is of the utmost importance.

Tips To Improve Your Ice Hockey Game

Every teenager who plays ice hockey dreams of making it big in the National Hockey League. However, many forget that besides talent, there are other factors that contribute to ensure that young and talented ice hockey players actually succeed in making it to the NHL.

There are a few tips that will help keep young stars on the right track and ensure that the doorway to NHL opens for them. Becoming a professional ice hockey player is not easy but if you set some plan of action for yourself and follow them diligently, there is no reason why NHL should not select you when the time comes.

The first and foremost is being careful about what you eat. Professional and aspiring ice hockey players need a lot of energy to keep their bodies going during the 60 minutes of play. Players should eat low fat food and lot of pasta to ensure that the body has sufficient energy to take them through the high excitement and energy-burning game.

Sleeping is part that should be followed without fail. Get a good eight to nine hours of sleep daily. During sleep, your body recovers from the rigors of practice and games. It helps your body to recharge for the next day. So, forget those late night parties.

A good player always uses his talent and strength. Take time to build your stamina and strength. Do not get enamored by drugs. Remember, if you are found taking drugs, it would mean the end of your NHL career. We all know by now what havoc drugs can cause in our bodies. Just because someone else is taking, do not indulge into it. Keep your priorities right.

Focus and mental strength are extremely important in ice hockey. Concentrate on your on your game and do not get distracted with other unimportant things. Once you can achieve this, you will truly be on your way to NHL.

The Battle Gear of Ice Hockey

If you are thinking about my inclusion of the word 'battle' in the title then I may clarify that a game as tough as this game need gears that is nothing short of a battle gear. Apart from the fact that this is one of the roughest games played it may be noted that the ice field is equally tough for survival.

The steadfast ice sheet coverage can be a dangerous source of injuries if proper and adequate precaution is not taken by players.

Ice Hockey Equipment

There are several items of importance that are put in an Ice hockey bag. These are crucial as they provide protection and safeguard a player from the severity of the methods as well as conditions of the game.

Here are the main equipments of this games.

Ice hockey helmets - The use of helmets is compulsory in this games. These are specialized helmets that come with a cage to protect the face. There are newer versions that even provide protection to the upper half of the face. Normally the making of these are such that they can withstand the severity of the collisions and the hit outs.
Ice hockey sticks - These are made of wood or other alloyed materials. There are various sizes available depending on the height of the player to use it. Graphite sticks are the best that are available even though they are very expensive.
Ice hockey gloves - The specialty of gloves is that it is made with thin separations inside and the extra thick padding is more for exterior coverage and protection.
Neck guards - This is an important necessity of a player as the roughness of the game makes hits very common around the neck area. Injuries are common from hockey sticks and skates and so it's vital for the player even though this may restrict the neck movement of the player.
Ice hockey skates - This is a primary requirement for players to move around on ice. Hockey skates are marked by rounded heels and an absence of tor picks. Important aspects of skates are the interior boots along with the outside holder and the roller blade. Some of these are also accompanied with an additional protection of the toes and ankle guards.
Shoulder pads - These are not just for the shoulders but also for the torso area and the spinal cord. It is aimed at the protection of vital parts of the body from the massive collisions and the pile ups that are common in this game.
Other Accessories - The intensity of the game has other but equally important necessary items like shin guards, elbow guards, mouth guard, pelvic protector and the garter belt.

It is a fast game and leaves with a very little room to take precautions once you are on the field. However prior precautions could go a long way to ensure a safer and a far more enjoyable game ahead.

3 Tips That Will Help You Score More Goals in Ice Hockey - Part One

Ice hockey is all about scoring goals and almost every player dreams about winning scoring titles.

Only a few are natural born goal scorers though.

My guess is that you too want to lead the league in scoring sometime and therefore I will give you a few tips on how you can improve your own hockey game and become a more frequent goal scorer.

To lead the league in scoring might be setting your personal goals too high though.

Goals should be set high, but they should always be realistic too. You must believe and feel that you have a chance achieving your goals.

Just take a few minutes to think about what kind of ice hockey player you are:

- If you are a natural scorer and feel that you can win a scoring title that should definitely be your goal for the season.

- If you're not a natural goal scorer, maybe your goal should be to score ten, twenty or thirty goals.

Knowing what kind of hockey player you are will make it easier for you to set realistic goals for yourself.

I say it again, because it is important:

Goals should always be realistic and you can very well divide your main goal into smaller steps.

For example, your goal could be to score five or eight goals every month. Making these goals will give you a good feeling about yourself and you can easily measure what you are achieving.

This article will be continued in "3 Tips That Will Help You Score More Goals in Ice Hockey - Part Two".

At HockeyTribute.com you can read more about NHL hockey and famous ice hockey players.

Off Ice Hockey Training - 3 Reasons You Can't Afford to Skip Dry-Land Training

Off ice hockey training is becoming more popular among youth players in recent years, but many players of all ages still ignore this critical aspect of training. Elite players have always trained off-ice, as they and their coaches understand the benefits that dry land training can have. Here are three reasons you can't afford to leave dry-land out of your development.

1) Dry land training improves muscular endurance, speed, power and agility without the need for ice time.

Dry land gives you an opportunity to work on critical areas of your game even when you're not on the ice. While the movements are different on the ground than on the ice, the benefits are the same. Dry land training like running and plyometrics help you build speed, endurance, power and agility, any time of year, whether you have access to ice or not.

2) Ice time isn't cheap. Dry land training can cost you nothing.

Ice time is very expensive. Even in a town with an abundance of rinks, ice rental will usually run at least $100 an hour. Simply relying on your team's ice time to get your conditioning in won't give you enough opportunity to train, and it can be very expensive to purchase extra time. Off-ice training doesn't require much more than somewhere to go, and your willingness to train. Anywhere you can run and jump you can do off-ice training.

3) Sticking to an off-ice routine will make you more disciplined during your on-ice training.

Dry-land training can be gruelling, and many players hate it compared to on-ice practices. This means that if you can stick to your dry-land routine, not only will you improve your skills and your physical fitness, but you'll also get more out of your on-ice practices.

Dedicated training and nutrition are important at any level if a player wants to improve, and for any player that wants to reach the top of their game, dry land training is an absolute must.

Ice Hockey Betting

Before the dawn of the internet, Americans who are into hockey betting still need to go to the only state where gambling is legal. Out of the fifty states, only Nevada has legalized gambling, so those sports fanatics who would want to bet on their favorite sports teams would still have to search for a sports book in Las Vegas casinos just for them to bet. Thankfully, with the help of the internet, ice hockey betting has become accessible for everyone.

If you want to start out a hobby or a career in betting on hockey games, the internet can be your trusted companion. There are a lot of sports book online that can facilitate your hockey betting. The only question here is: Which of these online sports book is the best and the safest? There are absolutely many answers to that question, but here are the most popular sports books sites that have earned their positive reputation because of providing just odds, giving out pays quickly, and a trusted customer service arm.

One of the online places where you can place your bets is Bookmaker. This sports book has a lot to offer to those who are interested in betting on hockey games particularly those that are from the National Hockey League. Even though the NHL is a Canada and US-based league, people from all over the world can actually take part in betting. With its high ratings from various sports book reviewers, this is definitely considered to be the most famous internet sports book in America with a lot of bettors not just in US but from other parts of the globe. It is not surprising that the Bookmaker has earned such reputation, for this is the first of its kind in the business. Aside from offering the National Hockey League, what makes this an international venue for hockey bettors is that it also features other major hockey leagues in European countries.

Another site where you can have hockey betting is Bodog which offers an initial bonus to those who are going to make deposits without requiring them a lot of requirements which save the bettors from a lot of unnecessary hassles. Just like the Bookmark, this site also allows bettors from other countries to participate in betting on NHL games. The other online sports book is Bet 365 that offers one of the highest match bonuses in the industry. The downside of the Bet 365 is that even though it feature the games from the National Hockey League and other major hockey leagues in Europe, it only allows Europeans to bet.

The common denominator among these three sports book sites is that these three are noted to be the most trustworthy in the business. This is the most important factor that hockey bettors consider in choosing their online betting platform. It only makes a lot of sense since the money of the bettor is the one at stake here. Furthermore, if you really desire to earn a lot from ice hockey betting, then you have to search for a trustworthy system to help you earn more from your winnings.

Off-Ice Hockey Training For Children - How Is It Different From Off-Ice Training For Adults?

Ice hockey training for children is different in many ways than hockey training for teenagers or adults. It makes perfect sense on the ice; children's games don't have checking, they are protected by mandatory face cages, and the emphasis of their practice is to learn the basic skills needed for hockey - skating and stick-handling. If it makes so much sense on the ice, why not off the ice?

Off-ice training for hockey has been rightly recognized as an integral, vital part in the development and refinement of an ice hockey player. That is also right for children, perhaps even more so; it is at the early age that the hockey-playing child can be led to absorb the work ethics that will accompany him at a later age.

However, when designing an off-ice training program for kids, one must remember that kids are kids. They are not pros, not even amateur adults. This is what connects us to the statement made earlier: as with on-ice training, off-ice training programs for children must be designed for children and be appropriate for their age, mentality and natural abilities, so as to help them develop as hockey players while not wearing them out or making them hate practice or hockey in general. And trust me, inappropriate training program can turn a hockey-loving child into not wanting to put on a pair of skates ever again.

So how should off-ice training programs for children be designed to reflect that fine balance? Here are just a few pointers out of many.

Be careful with power training. Up to mid-teens, go easy on weight training, and in earlier ages avoid it altogether - there's hardly any point in it at these ages.

Make sure training is diversified. The younger the children are, the more diversified the training should be. In addition to making the practices more interesting and fun, which connects to point number 1, it is important to the overall development of athletic abilities. Hockey-focused off-ice training is all good, but without laying down some general athletic groundwork its effect will be limited.

These are just three pointers out of many. Of course, as the child grows up, the training program should be adjusted to the child's age, physical and mental development.

Find out more on Hockey Speed And Power, a program by an ex-NHLer that understands exactly that - that's why it is divided into age groups, so your child can grow with it. It's right here.

There's more. HockeyHoller.com has more on this and other ice hockey training programs, plus more hockey resources. Go there, leave a comment and have your say.

Ice Hockey Skates - Needed For Playing the Sport

Ice hockey skates vary from figure skates in quite a few areas. Skates that are used in hockey are made to withstand much more abuse than those used in figure skating, making them more expensive and more bulky. Besides is not only thing that is different between these two types of skates, but the blades and every other aspect are also different.

The blades on ice hockey skates are different because they are shorter than those used on figure skates. Figure skate blades are much longer in order to allow the skater to be able to pull off various stunts, while those used for hockey are made to be much shorter so that they are covered entirely by the shoe portion, and they are also narrower to allow for more speed.

Figure skates are also longer than those used in hockey to allow elaborate foot work when needed, while those used in hockey are made to be comfortable.

Interestingly, the price of ice hockey skates can vary quite a bit depending on how hard to area is. The harder that the shoe, or boot, is the more expensive the pair of skates will be. The price can of course vary depending on the be quality and other factors, but the main factor is the hardness of the boots. It is a good idea to avoid spending too much on a pair of skates for someone who is young or just getting into hockey. You can be impossible to tell when they will grow out of the sport, or they might just grow out of the states themselves. It is better to stick with cheaper styles unless they are being purchased for an adult.

Because of the amount of abuse that skates used in hockey withstand, they need to be constantly maintained. Most shops that sell hockey skates will provide free or paid maintenance to them. This can include sharpening the blades and stretching the boot. It is best if you find a shop that will sharpen the blades for free because they need to be sharpened after every 4 to 6 hours of use on the ice. This can get to be quite costly, so it is best to choose a shop that will sharpen them for no charge.

Shopping online is also not recommended because skates need to be fitted exactly. Hockey skates must fit snugly in order to be effective, otherwise there could be a risk of injury or just a decreased movement speed. Finding the right ice hockey skates can be quite a search, a once it is all over with you can be confident the unit picked out the right pair.

How to Determine the Blade Curve on Your Ice Hockey Stick

Having the right ice hockey stick for your particular style makes all the difference in the world when it comes to stick handling, puck control, shooting, and passing. Specifically having the right curve on the blade of your ice hockey stick can mean the difference between a decent wrist or slap shot and a deadly wrist and/or slap shot. It also can determine whether your passes are wobbly and rolling or flat and saucer like. To make sure you get the most out of your shots and your passes you must make sure you have the right curve for you.

There are a number of things to consider when deciding which curve is right for you. With each ice hockey stick you will find variances in heel curves, toe curves, open face, closed face, round toe, square toe, shaft to blade angle, and the length of the blade. All these factors will affect pretty drastically the way the puck comes off your blade when shooting or passing. Plus each of these factors can be mixed and matched with all the other factors creating even more variations.

Each of the different manufacturers of ice hockey sticks offer all the different varieties of curves and angles on the blade and each manufacturer has a different name or title that it gives to the various combinations of angles and curves. The first step in deciding which curve is right for you is to familiarize yourself with the different options. You don't need to focus as much on what each manufacturer names each option, just learn the different options so that you can explain what you are looking for to a knowledgeable salesperson. After you become familiar with the different options, go a little further in depth in your research and find out which blade complements which style of shooting and passing. Some ice hockey sticks offer blade curves that are more designed for defensive players, some for offensive players, some are better for slap shots while some are better for wrist shots or snap shots, etc. After you've learned the different options and the advantages and disadvantages of each, you're ready for the next step in finding the right curve in your ice hockey stick.

The only true way to determine which curve is right for you is to actually try out and compare the different options available. Many hockey stores now have shooting areas inside the stores. Take advantage of this and try out any and every stick they will let you. Make sure you wear skates (rollerblades) when testing out the sticks too because shooting with skates on as opposed to without skates on is a completely different feel and approach. Try out your slap shot, wrist shot, snap shot, passing, loafing/saucers, going top shelf at close range, etc. This will be the safest and surest way that you get the curve that is best suited for you and your style.

While the variation in blades of ice hockey sticks offered these days may seem a bit overwhelming, being able to find a curve that is tailored to your specific style and needs is an invaluable asset. You will find that once you've matched yourself to the perfect curve for you your shot will improve dramatically as will your passing and puck handling. Just make sure that you buy more than one so your back-up ice hockey stick will feel and perform identically. Also remember to make a note of which blade and curve (names and characteristics) you like so you can quickly and easily replace it when the time comes.

Know Everything About Ice Hockey Kits

Ice hockey is an extremely popular sport in the US and Canada. Recently, this game is getting immensely popular in countries like the UK too. It is observed that there are an increasing number of ice rinks in the UK that are opening their doors to ice hockey teams so that they can train and practice their skills. In other words, it means that more and more people are able to practice their skills and develop a liking for this game.

The most prominent and famous images are the fight scenes that regularly occur in these games. When a fight occurs, the game is put on hold whilst two or more players have a punch up. The ice hockey game is considered as one of the more dangerous games that one could participate in.

This is one major reason why players who play the game need to protect themselves as best as they can. The most successful way of doing this is to buy ice hockey equipment that protects against the roughness of the sport.

This is a game where the puck can reach speeds of 100mph and players put their entire momentum behind speeding around the ring. The equipment that looks after the safety of players has never been more important.

Almost all ice hockey players wear protective kits. It is observed that the most important parts of the body are protected by this kit. The most prominent piece of equipment is the helmet. The ice hockey helmet protects the head from any serious injury that can occur from a stray hockey stick. The most vital aspect of these equipments is that it not only protects the player but it is also designed to improve the player's performance.

It is observed that a typical player will wear skates, shoulder pads, gloves, shin pads, elbow pads, mouth guards, neck guard and a chest protector. Apart from protecting the body from impact and damage, these items are designed in a manner so that they do not interfere with the ability of the player to perform his/her duties for the team.

The neck guard allows for unrestricted movement so that the player can move freely on ice and at the same time feel protected. The goalkeeper generally wears the more rigid forms of protection as he/she does not require as much movement as the outfield players.

Goal keepers or goal tenders have a stick different from the players that play in the outfield. The main difference between their sticks is that the goal tender has a larger paddle section on the stick which helps in protecting the goal more efficiently.

The goal keeper wears shorter, stouter skates that are closer to the ice. The flatter style of skate makes it easier for the goal keeper to move laterally. It helps the goal keeper to move and prevent the opposing team from scoring. The goal tender usually wears more protection on the front half of the body. This helps in ensuring that if they are struck with the ball they are less likely to be hurt.

Thus, along with the love for the game, choosing the right gear is equally important.

You Want to Know How to Pick the Right Ice Hockey Stick?

The hockey stick is the most important. Without the stick, there would be no game of hockey. Players take a long time checking out different sticks to make sure they chose the one that is right for them. Every player has his or her own style. This will make a difference in what hockey stick an individual finally decides on using.

The length of the stick will be different for each individual.

The ice hockey players that want to have more control over the puck and do fancy stick handling will probably want to go with a shorter stick. A shorter stick allows you to keep the puck closer to the body and be quicker with puck handling.

The bigger players, like the ones playing defense will probably go for a stick that is longer. This length allows an easier time getting the puck off the boards. It also gives the ice hockey player a longer reach. This comes in handy when you are skating backwards and want to try and poke the puck away form your opponent without giving up the distance between the two of you.

Your posture can play a big role in which stick to purchase too. If you tend to stand straight up, you will need a longer stick. If you are bent forward most of the time, you will want a shorter stick.

Be sure to take all factors into consideration when you are ready to purchase a new hockey stick. Buying the wrong stick will cause you nothing but grief.

Hockey Workouts - 3 Ultimate Core Training Exercises For Ice Hockey Players

Core training in hockey workouts is of the utmost importance. The core is responsible for a lot of things when you're on the ice, including generating power in your shots and hits, and stabilizing you when you skate, shoot, hit, get hit, or do just about anything else. A strong core makes for dominant ice hockey players, whereas a weak one is begging for injuries. Here are 3 of the best exercises you can do to train your core for top performance on the ice.

Reverse Crunch with Swiss Ball

This is a great exercise and very simply to do. The exercise ball is added to make the movement a little more difficult. You can do it without though if you find it too difficult to do with the ball. To perform this exercise, lie on your back and grip a Swiss ball between your fight and calves. Never let the ball touch the ground, hold it just above. Using your core, bring the ball up until your legs are straight above you and your hips are off of the ground.

Swiss Ball Push-up

Again, the Swiss ball is used to add instability which is why this exercise activates the core so effectively. In fact, any time you can add instability into your workout, it will always effectively work your core. To perform the Swiss ball push-up, simply place your hands on an exercise ball and perform a normal push-up movement like you would on the ground. You can also reverse this and place your feet on the ball. Both are great exercises and will rip up your core.

Wood-Chooper

To do this exercise, grab a dumbbell (or alternately use a medicine ball) and holding it with both hands, start with it raised above your left shoulder. Bring it down and across your body until it is beside your right hip (simulating an axe-swing across your body). Repeat until the set is finished and then switch sides and perform the same movement in reverse. This is a great exercise for your core and has huge benefits for shooting.

These three exercises will take you a long way if you add them into your normal routine, but they're only a few of the many great core exercises you can do to increase your on-ice performance. For more great hockey exercises, and to see visual demonstrations of these and all other exercises, go to http://www.tophockeytraining.com and check out Hockey Speed and Power by Kevin Miehm. Written by an ex-NHLer, it provides a complete, hockey specific training regime that any player can use to maximize their on ice performance.
